Female students are traditionally under-represented in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) stream both internationally and in Sri Lanka.
The Science and Technology Human Resource Development Project (STHRDP) aims to increase the number of female student taking up technology and engineering programmes and persuade them to seek careers in non-traditional sectors.
The interviews presented here showcase the views of female undergraduate students enrolled in non-traditional areas of study at the Technology Faculties at the Universities of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, University of Kelaniya and the Engineering Faculty at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
